Today Rachel and I took the Metra from Barrington to Chicago. We spent 12 hours there! Man are we tired! It was a great day though and the weather was literally perfect. It was definitely hot and a little too humid for us Californians, but we knew it was better than the thunder and lightning storms we had the day before. We spent a good amount of time on Navy Pier and at Millennium Park, ate the best Chicago pizza at Lou Malnati’s, went on a Skyline boat cruise on Lake Michigan, and walked around Michigan Avenue. We saw lots of interesting people, ate really good food, and enjoyed the absolutely beautiful city that Chicago is. We are now home in Barrington again, our legs feel like they could fall off, and we are ready for bed 🙂 It was a great day and the other days have been great too- we went to a Cubs game and have spent some really great quality time with the friends we are staying with here- it has been such a blessing! We are excited to rest tomorrow and I am looking forward to showing Rachel more of my childhood hometown.
Blessings to you today on Memorial Day- a day where every soldier, past or present, deserves to be honored, respected, and thanked!
